About Us
APTC partners and industry linkages
The APTC was designed to build on the existing strengths of the region and work closely with other Pacific educational institutions and training providers.
In practice, this means that the APTC has established agreements with Pacific organisations to use their facilities and, where necessary, upgrade them to meet Australian Quality Training Framework standards.
We have also appointed an APTC Advisory Group and advisory groups to maintain links with local industry and ensure the relevance of our training.

The APTC Advisory Group and Industry Advisory Groups
A key emphasis of TAFE in Australia is to establish and maintain close linkages with industry to ensure that the TAFE is meeting industry needs. The APTC will be no different. It maintains its links to industry in the Pacific by keeping in close, informal contact with local industry and through formal processes that involve the two organisations below:
APTC Advisory Group
The APTC Advisory Group is responsible for engaging with industry at national, regional and international levels to ensure that the education services we provide are relevant and meet Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) standards.
The Group’s principal responsibility is to provide strategic advice on a range of industry and training issues in the Pacific region, helping to drive future directions of the APTC.
The Group comprises members from Pacific Island governments, key industries in the region, Australian government and the APTC Chief Executive Officer.
APTC Industry Advisory Groups
In each campus-country (Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Samoa and Vanuatu) Industry Advisory Groups will be established by the APTC to ensure representation of specific industry groups operating in these countries. This allows for industry and Pacific Island government to engage constructively with the APTC and ensure our qualifications are always highly relevant.
