Certificate III in Children's Services (Independent Carer stream)
Brief description of course
This stream is specifically targeted at individuals who are currently working as Independent Carers of young children in private homes and resorts.
Competencies include planning daily routines that meet the needs of the infant and child and enhancing their physical, emotional, social and psychological development. Gain an understanding of working with families from diverse backgrounds and providing services that are ethical, safe and well regarded.
Entrance requirements
This course is specifically targeted at individuals with training and assessment experience or for those who train and assess as part of their jobs.
Selection will be based on industry experience, previous related education and an interview with APTC staff.
Duration
The course will be delivered part-time over 12 months. Applicants will attend theory/underpinning knowledge classes and complete practicum within their workplace setting.
Recognition of Prior Learning(RPL) or Recognition of Current Competency(RCC) will be granted where applicants can demonstrated current underpinning knowledge, relevant qualifications.
To obtain RPL please submit evidence of your prior experience or learning with your application, as it may assist to shorten the duration of your course. Ask for more information when you enrol.
