Totoka Hair Designers' brush with fashion
"Fantastic!" "Intense!" "Inspiring!" "Exhilarating!"
These are just some of the words that APTC Hairdressing students used to describe their experience of working with fashion designers and models, during the recent Fiji Fashion Week held in Suva.
The students ended a year of studies at the APTC training salon in Suva, Totoka Hair Designers, with "…two days of intense pressure," said Hairdressing Trainer, Bruce Shane.
"The students worked non-stop for 13 hours on the Friday, meeting the hair-design demands of models and fashion designers," said Bruce. "Then on Saturday, the students were back on their feet for another 13-hour stint for Fiji Fashion Week."
"The students had the experience of working within a very tight time-frame, under hot and humid conditions, and for an exacting clientele," explained Bruce. "It was exciting to see how well they responded to the situation, and how much they enjoyed working under pressure."
