Solomon Islands show strong interest in APTC courses
A recent recruitment visit to the Solomon Islands by Ms Jan Matheson, APTC Country Manager Vanuatu, drew a strong response.
Mid-February, Ms Matheson was in Honiara to conduct recruitment for the APTC Schools of Tourism and Hospitality (STH) and Health and Community Services (SHCS).
"Part of that recruitment involved two days of conducting Literacy and Numeracy testing at the at newly-opened five-star hotel, Heritage Park," said Nancy Palmer, Non-Campus Country Coordinator, Solomon Islands.
"The response was overwhelming," continued Ms Palmer. "Within those two days alone, we processed close on 180 applicants."
Ms Palmer went on to say that there is a lot of interest in STH and SHCS courses, but "…Jan ran out of time so we had to reschedule for her next visit in April 2010, which will coincide with the upcoming graduation ceremony in the Solomon Islands."
