Successful roadshows at Wewak and Goroka
Successful roadshows took place in Wewak and Goroka, Papua New Guinea, with more than 500 people attending the three-day event at Wewak. The response at Goroka was even more overwhelming, with over 775 people attending, some travelling two or three hours by bus to be there.
Local TVET staff assisted ACEM Manager, Project Implementation, Rick Harper in the presentation and administration of applications, with 45 applying for the School of Tourism and Hospitality, and 125 for ACEM. Of the latter, the predominant applications were for the carpentry, metal fabrication, automotive and diesel fitting trades.
During the course of the Wewak roadshow, Rick visited local TVET training facilities. TVET graduates and teachers, who Rick met during the roadshows, expressed the view that APTC will be the pathway for training and employment success.
