Margaret’s aspirations attained with airline
When Fiji-born Margaret Epa undertook study for Certificate III Tourism Operations, at the Samoa Campus she had one major goal in mind; to work with an airline.
Since finding employment with Inter Island Airways in Samoa, this aspiration has been attained.
Margaret is enthusiastic about her new job, and the changes taking place at Inter Island Airline.
“Our new reservation system is coming soon, and I am really looking forward to it,” said Margaret. “Also, our new 30-seater aircraft is coming, which will be flying to Fiji, Tonga, Niue and the Cook Islands. It will be fun. I have been asked to accompany our supervisor to Fiji to do training since I am the only Fijian in the Company.”
Margaret (who is married to a Samoan citizen) did not fulfill her dream immediately upon graduating. She first found part-time employment, and gained valuable experience, with a local ground operator, as a Tour Guide for cruise ship visitors in Samoa.
Tourism Trainer, Ray Petts, said that Margaret has “the perfect personality for the Tourism Industry. She is always very friendly, and is well-liked by her customers.”
