New training kitchen at Namaka campus
The new, state-of-the–art training kitchen at the Namaka campus was officially opened at a buffet luncheon held at ‘Fusions’, the Namaka training restaurant.
The new kitchen follows closely on the recent up-grade of the bar facility at ‘Fusions’. Now Commercial Cookery and Operations students have the opportunity to complete their certificates in a best practices environment.
Speaking at the launch, Chief Guest, Iliatia Vuki, General Manager of TPAF Namaka Centre, said that surveys had shown that there was a demand for trained chefs, and the new facility was one solution towards addressing the problem.
The APTC Coordinating Office General Manager, Mr Antoine Barnaart, said that the new kitchen was a part of the upgrading of training facilities that APTC was undertaking at APTC campuses in the South Pacific region.
