SEKIA WANTOK TOUR - SAVAII ISLAND
Overview of the Savaii Island Tour - Submitted by:Lorraine Lau Koraha
APTC Tourism class of August 2011 intakes consisted of students from various parts of the pacific island countries with majority hailing from Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Samoans.
Though we are separated by culture and traditions, we put in a tremendous effort in putting this Savaii Island tour together without any difficulty and I'm sure our Trainer Brendan Clennet will agree to that. It took us as a class, weeks and months to research information pertaining Samoa's culture, tourism attraction sights and traditions before we actually ran the tour even without a test run. This was the part where we had our international students who had to be known as part Samoans on the day the tour was run and for the past 5 months we have been in Samoa.
All this we couldn't have done without the tireless tutoring and mentoring from our Trainer Brenden Clennet whom we send all our gratitude to him for teaching us. We also would like to thank APTC for the opportunity given to us to be able to gain these skills which we will now utilise and put into practise in our workplace in our home countries.
