Tourism and Hospitality grads for PNG
Twenty-three APTC students have returned home to Papua New Guinea for their graduation in Tourism and Hospitality.
The new graduates have successfully completed their studies at APTC Campuses in Vanuatu, Samoa and Fiji. They now hold internationally recognised, Australian qualifications; Certificate III, Tourism Operations, Certificate III, Hospitality Operations, and Certificate IV, Hospitality Supervision.
Speaking at the ceremony, held at the Crowne Plaza hotel, Port Moresby, Mr James Marape, Education Minister, said that the government of PNG supported the APTC program, which would sustain the lives of many Papua New Guineans through giving the graduates ‘skills for life’.
“This occasion is an indication of what technical and vocational training (TVET) can do,” said Mr Marape.
Mr Marape told the graduates that by working in tourism and hospitality, “You are in the industry…that will sustain this country for a very long time and boost the economy.”
