APTC presents at UNEP conference in Samoa
ACEM’s Certificate III in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning requires conforming to the conditions set out in the Montreal Protocol, Ozone Layer Protection, 1989. “Although there are constraints within Pacific Island Countries which make it difficult to meet the Protocol’s requirements, we have initiated management strategy projects in Samoa with the more 30 ACEM Refrigeration students from eight Pacific Island Countries. ” said Michael Moller, ACEM Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Trainer.
Michael made a presentation on appropriate management strategies at the four-day. U.N.E.P. (United Nations Environment Program) conference on the held recently in Apia, where Pacific Island Country delegates gathered to assess international strategies for the accelerated phasing-out of HCFC refrigerants, and other controlled substances.
“Upon completing their studies, the ACEM students will take the message about best practice and environmental procedures back to their counties. This is one way in which APTC is helping to drive best practice in the Pacific, ” concluded Michael.
