Tiling brothers go into business
While giving one of the student addresses at the recent ACEM Fiji graduation ceremony, Abhinesh Kumar Chand said that enrolling with his older brother Ravinesh in the APTC Certificate III course in Wall and Floor Tiling had given them the confidence to enter the tiling business together.
Before undertaking the APTC course, Abhinesh had high school qualifications only. He had some tiling experience, but became unemployed when the company he worked for closed its doors.
Abhinesh said that the guidance, motivation and new skills they received from Trainer Neil Atkinson helped the brothers gain recognition for their work in their hometown Nadi, and the surrounding area. The resulting boost to their business, Quality Tile Setters, has meant that the brothers Kumar have been able to employ other workers, and acquire improved equipment.
