Proud new Dad is also proud to be an APTC student.
Sofeni Tafili is an employee with Samoa’s Electric Power Corporation (EPC), and works at at Tanugamanono where one of the 2 main power stations is located.
Sofeni has recently completed the first 4 weeks of the block of his Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology in Fiji. and is looking forward to seeing his trainer in Apia next month. Echoing the sentiments of his course classmates, Sofeni is very pleased with all arrangements and is thankful to APTC for the opportunity, and to his employer for supporting him with his studies.
Becoming a new father hours before boarding the flight to Fiji ,Sofeni felt a bit reluctant to leave his spouse and their first born. Missing out on those early weeks with his daughter inspired him to successfully complete his studies in Fiji.
Ale To’omata, also a student of the Certificate III Automotive Mechanical Technology, Ale has also completed the first 4 weeks of the block of his course and is back in Apia at his work place, awaiting the trainer for assessment. Like all the other Automotive students, Ale is very pleased with his training, the pre-arrangements, accommodation, and the support received whilst undertaking the course and is also looking forward to seeing his trainer again next month.
These students are fortunate to have supportive, understanding, willing, employers, encouraging and giving their employees opportunities presented by APTC. Although the students missed their families during their training away from home, they felt it was all worth it. Special thanks goes to all the employers for supporting their workers with their studies, the trainers and all who contributed to the success of the students and the implementation of APTC programs.
