ACEM Student Puts Theory into Practice in Kiribati
APTC School of Automotive, Construction, Electrical and Mechanical (ACEM), Certificate III in Automotive Student Kabiriera Karibanang showed his employers, the Ministry of Works in Kiribati, just how valuable his time at the School of ACEM was, and how much he learnt from his first training block in Fiji.
Returning to his workplace, Kabiriera was able to repair a vehicle with brake problems deemed to be ‘unfixable’. This vehicle had been sitting in the workshop for 6 months. Kabiriera managed to repair the vehicles brake problems within an hour, putting into practice what he had learned whilst attending block training in Fiji.
Kabiriera was thrilled that all the theory he had learnt from his trainer in Fiji fell into place, and he was able to isolate and repair the problem using the skills he acquired.
Kabiriera has just recently completed his workplace assessment component of the course by Trainer Roger, and is expected to complete his training in 2009.
