Workshop with TV Crew for Vanuatu Youth Work students

An exciting opportunity had been encountered by the APTC Vanuatu Certificate IV Youth Work students and their teacher Annie Dares, who participated in a three day workshop hosted by one of the South Pacific leading youth services, Wan Smol Bag . An exciting Pacific wide program of Won Smol Bag is the renowned TV series Love Patrol.

 Love Patrol’s ten part series which seeks to use drama to inform raise awareness and encourage public discussion on a range of contemporary health, lifestyle, environment and governance issues.

The workshop which the students attended was facilitated by one of the actors in the series with each student receiving a well structured Love Patrol learning guide with accompanying activities. The participants were encouraged to explore a diverse range of human issues which stretched the students thinking and encouraged students to look at issues from a number of points of view.

The students were very excited about their learning and thought of opportunities how they can apply the knowledge and skills gained through the 'Love Patrol' in their role as youth workers.

APTC is an Australian Government initiative in partnership with the Pacific and Timor-Leste.
