APTC Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Students complete final training block
Thirteen Refrigeration and Air conditioning students from Samoa, Tonga, Kiribati, PNG, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu have completed their last block of training at the Samoa campus of the Australia-Pacific Technical College (APTC). This brings to an end 20 weeks of face-to-face instruction, which first began in 2008, as well as considerable on-the-job-training. The students are returning to their home countries to apply their knowledge in the workplace. There, Trainer Michael Moller will visit the students, and conduct the final assessments necessary for completing Certificate III in Refrigeration and Air conditioning.
Of particular note are the two exceptions to this: Faavae Foaga, from Samoa, and Ian Momoru of Papua New Guinea. These students have completed all practical, work-based requirements for certification. The completion of this block training means that Faave and Ian will graduate in October 2009.
Trainer Ian Moller paid tribute to the dedication of the students as well as to local businesses who “generously opened their doors for our international students to use their equipment as an aid to our training,” said Michael.
