APTC Graduation in Samoa
The conferring of Certificates for nine APTC students in Samoa was held at the Visions Training Restaurant at the National University of Samoa. The graduation was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister of Samoa and Minister of Samoa Tourism, Hon. Misa Telefoni Retzlaff and Minister of Education, Sports & Culture. Hon. To’omata A. To’omata, Hon. Misa T. Retzlaff was the keynote speaker for the evening. Among the guests were, Australian High Commissioner to Samoa, H.E Matt Anderson, , Deputy Vice Chancellor, NUS-IOT, Dr Emma Kruse Vaái, and Deputy Vice Chancellor for Higher Education, NUS, Professor Le’apai Lau Asofau along with family members of the graduating students and staff of APTC in Samoa.
Oliva Lapalapa was the first Samoan to graduate from APTC’s Schools of Automotive, Construction & Electrical and Manufacturing (ACEM), completing a Certificate III in Fitting and Machining.
Eight students graduated from APTC’s School of Tourism & Hospitality with two students graduating with a Certificate III in Tourism Operations and six graduating with Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery). These students were all existing workers and look forward to putting into practice in their workplace what they have learnt in their respective courses.
At the completion of the graduation formalities, a 3-course meal was prepared and served by students of the School of Tourism & Hospitality. APTC Samoa would like to convey their appreciation to the School of Tourism and Hospitality Samoa for organising the graduation event.
