Sebel invites students to assist at Tok Tok
At the invitation of the Sebel Hotel in Port Vila, APTC Hospitality Operations and Supervision students assisted in hosting Tok Tok 2009.
Vanuatu Tok Tok, an annual event beginning 8 years ago, is the country’s premier tourism expo.
Trainer Marc Warin said that some two-dozen APTC students, having just started their training, worked along-side the Sebel staff. Over the two-day event, the students assisted in serving meals to delegates attending the event.
“The students were neat and well presented in their APTC uniforms,” said Marc. “Feedback from the host, Sebel, as well as from exhibitors, delegates, and other hotel guests, commended the students for their stand-out enthusiasm, attention to detail and cheery dispositions.”
“Not only did the students benefit from this hands-on experience, but meeting the delegates was an added advantage. Many of the delegates make tour bookings to the students’ home countries,” said Marc.
“The Sebel generously provided the students with a travel allowance, meals, and most importantly, a laminated certificate of appreciation to include in their work portfolios,” concluded Marc.
