Vehicles donated by PNG Correctional Services have useful second life.
The PNG Correctional Services Department has made an invaluable donation of six ‘out of use’ vehicles to the APTC Automotive department.
“All vehicles have needed a lot of work, but to date, the students have all but one vehicle 'up and running' and have used the vehicles extensively to great advantage for competencies in Service Braking Systems and Repair Braking Systems, to great advantage,” said Automotive - Light Vehicle Trainer, Greg Rogerson.
The donated vehicles are a Hyundai Lantra 1.8 litre with Double Overhead Camshaft, and a Fuel Injected Engine,
a Nissan Path Finder 4-wheel drive, a Mazda T3500 light truck, a Mazda PMV (Public Motor Vehicle; what we would call a 22-seater bus in Australia), an Isuzu ute and a Mitsubishi Magna Station Wagon.
“The vehicles will be an invaluable teaching and learning resource for future competencies and will give the students 'hands on' practical experience,” said Greg.
