APTC Gold Medal at Fiji Chef's Association Annual Salon Culinaire

Jun 03, 2008

APTC School of Tourism & Hospitality (STH) scooped 28 medals (1Gold, 11 Silver and 16 Bronze) at the Fiji Chef’s Association Salon Culinaire at the Tanoa International Hotel in Nadi. Twenty two students participated in the event. This was the first time for APTC to participate in this Annual Event in Fiji.

Five students received Merit Awards. Two full time students from the Certificate III Commercial Cookery class and five part-time students participated in the live cooking categories before the judges, and fifteen submitted entries across several of the static categories. Culinary trainers Douglas Battison and Cathy Joyce assisted the entrants with practice sessions over the weeks leading into the competition, and were rewarded for their efforts in the best possible way – the satisfaction of the first taste of culinary competition success for their students.

APTC is an Australian Government initiative in partnership with the Pacific and Timor-Leste.

APTC is implemented by TAFE Queensland (RTO 0275)
